On Tuesday June 24, TechnoLine Pavement Services will be retouching the runway with sealant.
The work should take one day if weather permits, so no flying can take place on Tuesday.
Update:
Thanks to Brian Harrington and Technoline Pavement, we have a new runway surface.
Keep an eye out for real planes trying to land.
Estate Sale - John Martin
Classified
June 21, 2025
Some of you may know John Martin, who joined the club about a year ago.
Sadly, he passed away a short time ago after a brief illness.
In his brief time in the club, he acquired a large amount of RC equipment and airplanes.
A few of the planes have been sold off, but several planes and an astonishing amount of
equipment remain. Virtually all of it is essentially brand new.
Only one or two planes have been flown, and, while he has 20 LiPo batteries,
only a few of them have been used, and only for a few flights.
We are assisting the widow, Sue, to sell these articles.
Barry Partridge, Eric Klepsch and I have worked through the details.
Below are a number of photographs, some of them are aircraft and there is also a top of the line Spektrum transmitter.
These will be sold individually with an asking price about half of the new price (except for the transmitter).
We believe this is a reasonable asking price for each item.
If you are interested in an item, email Geoff at norman@mcmaster.ca, type 'Martin' in the subject line,
indicate which item you are interested in, and your offer.
The first reasonable offer will be accepted.
You will be notified the first week of July.
For the remaining smaller items, we have listed them all and referred you to the appropriate image.
We are conducting a modified silent auction.
If you are interested, please e-mail Geoff at norman@mcmaster.ca, type 'Martin' in the subject line,
and submit the code number of the item, the description, and how much you are offering.
Submit your bid by Friday, June 27 at 5 PM.
The highest bidder for each item will be notified during the first week of July.
For all accepted offers, it will then be up to you to contact Sue Martin
and arrange payment and pickup, I will provide her address details at that time.

Fun Fly Cancelled
Event
June 14, 2025
Sorry Folks, but today's FunFly has been cancelled due to high winds.
Unfortunately, tomorrow does not look much better, and some key organizers are not available.
We will attempt to reorganize it on another weekend. Stay tuned.
Hopefully the gods will be with us for the next event.

T-33: Rags To Riches (Updated)
Project
May 1, 2025
Last Fall (2024) a fellow club member had the misfortune of seeing his Freewing T-33
disappear through the trees.
We found the model scattered on the ground, in the bushes, and in the trees.
Gathering everything in a garbage bag, I asked: "what are you going to do with the debris?"
He replied: "It's going in the garbage."
I said: "Give it to me, I'm looking for a winter project."
After a couple of weeks, I laid all the parts on my basement floor.
As I have done with other crashed winter projects, I Gorilla glued and stapled the fuselage parts
together from nose to tail.
The fuselage was in 7 pieces.
The wing was in 23 pieces.
I began stapling and taping fuselage pieces together.
And after a lot of the "hot water treatment", I began filling and
sanding and got the fuselage to a 20/20 acceptance.
(At 20 feet away and at 20 mph, you can't see the repairs!)
Just a few pieces of foam and plastic parts were missing, but I knew I could rebuild the fuselage.
I tried, but the wing was too badly damaged... I needed a new wing.
In January of '25, Barry Parkinson and I travelled to Niagara Falls, NY to pick up my wing
and model parts along with Barry's beautiful big yellow E-Flite T-28.
I finished rebuilding the T-33 fuselage by March, then began painting the model in the
1970's RCAF T-33 fluorescent orange wing tip scheme.
Callie Graphics decals gave the model its personality.
This rebuild took 5 months and was an excellent winter project.
Last Friday (April 22, 2025) I took the model to our flying field to have Peter Krautter
take pictures for this article. Brian Harrington was there as well.
The next day, Brian called and made me an offer. It's his!
Thanks to Peter Krautter for the pictures at our Field.
Cheers
Ted Pritlove
Brian Harrington has finally test flown his rebuilt Freewing T-33. Very little trim was needed.

MaidenFest Cancelled
Event
May 23, 2025
Update (May27):
We have been informed that the Niagara bound lanes of the Skyway will be completely closed
from Friday evening to Monday morning for maintenance.
From past experience, that means that pretty well all east-west traffic in Burlington and Hamilton,
and of course the QEW and 403, will be gridlocked.
As a result, after chatting with some members, and recognizing that it’s only a couple of
weeks to our Father’s Day fly-in, we we have decided to cancel Maidenfest for this year.
